Fire Districts Mutual was founded in 1978 by a group of Fire Districts, in reaction to dissatisfaction with the State Insurance Fund. For over 30 years, our mission has been to provide the best possible claim service - the maximum benefits allowable under New York State Workers' Compensation Laws - to injured volunteer firefighters.

We believe that the last thing the brave men and women who fight fires should have to worry about is their insurance coverage. We provide coverage based on 100% earning capacity for all members.
